Seamers

Cybersmith® Engineering developed the first servo-controlled machines of this type in 1996. These popular machines have heavy duty servo-operated first and second operation rollers and a servo-powered infeed unit. Recent examples include servo-operated third axis and automatic height adjustment. These single spindle machines can be changed over from varying diameters and heights in 5 to 10 minutes and are capable of producing about 15 to 40 parts per minute depending on filter diameter and the seam type being produced. For example, a 3.6 inch diameter double lock seam can be produced in excess of 40 parts per minute.

Extensive programming of the operator interface in combination with optional RFID tool recognition allows quick and accurate changeovers and small changes within “canned programs” to accommodate part variations that can occur from run to run.

Standard machines produce filters varying in diameter from 2.8  to 5.4 inches and heights from 2.5 to 14 inches.  Retainer wall thicknesses up to .050” can be produced.
